Summer vacation looks a bit different this year so I'm helping you embrace the STAY-cation!

We're all trying to stay closer to home this year and while that might mean your typical summer vacation was canceled, it doesn't mean there's no way to enjoy the summer. So, I've compiled a list of staycation spots within driving distance of the Woodbury area. Stay safe and enjoy!

1. Dancing Dragonfly Winery

Take a scenic drive along the St. Croix river just an hour North of the Twin Cities to this delightful winery for a pleasant afternoon of wine tastings and wood-fired pizzas. All of the house wines are named after dances-my personal favorite is their raspberry desert wine, the Tango.

2. Hudson, WI

Enjoy a day on one of Hudson’s lovely beaches or find the perfect place to dock your boat after a long day on the river. Stop in at Pier 500 for a fantastic meal, browse through the local shops, or enjoy a nice walk on the beach.

3. Anoka Aquatic Center

If you’re looking for something to entertain your kiddos this summer the Anoka Aquatic Center is the perfect day away activity. The park has waterslides, pools, shallow water  to stay cool as well as lounge and picnic areas for your family to enjoy in between the water activities.

4. Afton State Park

Spend the day hiking, biking, or horseback riding through gorgeous trails with incredible views. Just outside of the park is the charming town of Afton, MN where you can enjoy ice cream at the local gem, Selma’s, take a stroll along the river, or pop in and out of the beautiful little boutiques lining the town's main street.

5. Stillwater, MN

Complete with charming shops and great cuisine, this quaint little river town is one of the oldest cities in Minnesota. Stroll through town or walk along the river and cross the historic lift bridge. Your little ones will love Teddy Bear Park or Nelson’s ice cream parlor. Or if you have a boat on the river, this is another perfect stop to complete a long day on the St. Croix.

6. Taylor Falls, MN

Spend the day outdoors at one of Taylor Falls’ many parks and attractions. Take a scenic boat tour, visit the Wisconsin Interstate State Park or spend the afternoon at the Trollhaugen outdoor recreation area. Whoever you’re going with there is something for everyone to enjoy.

What do you have planned for this summer?

If you're like me, the summer also means moving. If you're planning on selling your home this summer, let's talk.
